I-MC started out in Pertuis (near Aix en Provence) in 2017, it was founded by Dominique Nozais, from the CEA spin-off programme, and co-founder Stéphane Robic. It is based on the work of Centrale Nantes Professor Jean-Yves Hascoët - an international expert in additive manufacturing and welding processes and scientific advisor to I-MC - and of the CEA. I-MC offers a digital integration platform for the industrial machining sector.

The start-up received an award in two categories:
  • Most innovative product in the ‘Industry of the Future’ category
  • Special prize for the ‘most innovative product in the digital field’ (developed by a joint laboratory/company venture directly based on laboratory research or knowledge-transfer).
