A look back at PHYSMOD - International Conference on Atmospheric Flows

Centrale Nantes hosted PHYSMOD for the first time this summer (Workshop on PHYSical MODdeling of flow and dispersion phenomena), a biennial international conference bringing together international experts and young researchers on wind tunnel modelling of atmospheric flows.

The key figures in this field came together on the Centrale Nantes campus from 23 to 25 August. The programme included discussions on the latest advances in experimental modelling of the atmospheric boundary layer, the study of atmospheric dispersion of gas, wind engineering and wind energy.

Congratulations to Charline Fouchier of the von Karman Institute and the Université Libre de Bruxelles who won the award for the best student presentation for her work on "Scaled model of the pollutant disperion driven by a condensed-phase explosion in an urban environment".

A big thank you to all the participants at PHYSMOD2017!
