My research focuses on Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) and Finite Volume methods for the simulation of complex flows in the presence of free surface or interface separating several phases, and generally in coupled interaction with solids (rigid or deformable) of complex geometry. The various research themes addressed are directed towards improving the convergence and stability properties of these methods, in particular with a view to reducing their digital diffusion and improving the accuracy of simulations. In particular, the regularity of the pressure and speed fields represents a key improvement. Another important element concerns the imposition of boundary conditions, a subject that appears to have been recurrent over the past fifteen years and on which the international scientific community is still applying significant effort. Other crucial points concern the acceleration of the equivalent precision calculation, by local refinement methods, but also by multi-CPU and GPU parallelization. My research is also oriented towards the diversification of applications, multiphase models and fluid-structure coupling in particular. Over the course of 15 years of research, and through the supervision of a dozen PhD theses and several post-docs, this work has finally led to a certain maturity of the models and contributed to the emergence of two codes, SPH-Flow and WCCH, developed today jointly by LHEEA and its industrial partner NEXTFLOW Software.
