JEMARO is a new Erasmus Mundus programme jointly co-ordinated by Centrale Nantes and Keio University that follows the path of its European cousin, EMARO+, in the field of Advanced Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. The cooperation between Japan and Europe is at the very heart of this double-degree programme that will welcome its first students in September 2020.

Prof. Toshiyuki Murakami and Keio University will welcome the consortium of academic partners for two days of discussions on the Yagami Campus. The goal of this selection meeting will be to review some of the 446 applications received from candidates across 66 different countries and decide on the award of Erasmus Mundus and consortium scholarships. The meetings will also focus on preparing the arrival of the first intake in September in terms of curriculum, logistics and administrative formalities.

Centrale Nantes will be represented by Prof. Vincent Frémont, local coordinator, as well as Prof. Fouad Bennis, Anne-Laure Frémondière, Cécilia Provost and Leslie Cubizolles of the International Relations Department.

More about JEMARO

JEMARO is the first joint Japan-Europe programme offering high-level academic and industrial training across the whole span of robotics (Mathematical modelling, Control engineering, Computer engineering, Mechanical design) with the technological specialisation of the associated industrial partners. All JEMARO course units are taught in English, and they are already mutually recognized by all the consortium partners within Local Master Tracks. All activities are organized and implemented on a common agreement basis and by integrating the educational rules differences/constraints between Japan and Europe.

Students graduating from the JEMARO Master's course are awarded two Master's degrees from the institutions where they studied. The degrees obtained are officially recognised and give full access to PhD study programmes.
