Pietro FLORIO, Lecturer in Building Physics at EPFL (Switzerland), will give a lecture entitled "The social dimension of ecological transition" on 17 October 2019 in lecture theatre S from 10.15 am to 12.15 pm.

On October 17, 2019 All day

Pietro Florio is a post-doctoral researcher at the Solar Energy and Building Physics Lab at EPFL. He has been working for several years on the social acceptance and visual impact of building integrated solar modules. His areas of expertise include building energy modeling and monitoring, for which he is now carrying on an analysis of the NEST SolAce unit at EMPA; Energy Poverty, for which he is part of the COST Engager Action and had an active role in research and development both in Italy and France; Parametric Architecture, for which he collaborates in a workgroup within the COST RESTORE community; Solar Energy and Urban Planning, for which he has been expert and discussion leader in several IEA Tasks.

During his stay on campus Pietro Florio is involved in research work on visual field and twilight vision modelling. The aim is to develop collaboration to translate indicators from visibility studies into the mesopic vision register (twilight vision or vision in artificial lighting conditions - public lighting).
