On Monday 17 June 2019, the Recup'Eau Vietnam association won second prize for student solidarity by the VEOLIA foundation. Laurent Auguste, Executive Vice President, Innovation and Market Development was present to give the award. Out of the 128 applications received, 11 projects were shortlisted to deliver an oral presentation followed by a question and answer session with the panel members. Four student associations received an award.

Récup'Eau Vietnam provides assistance to an under-privileged Vietnamese village in several different ways:

  • education - via English classes provided to the children,
  • health - by building sanitary facilities,
  • and soon waste management with the implementation of plastic recycling.
Around fifteen students have made the trip to Vietnam each summer since 2011.
The panel singled out the REV Action project, dedicated to the recycling of plastics via a single machine. With the Rev-machine, the association wants to make it possible for the villagers of Liên Son 2, in southern Vietnam, to use a grinder, an extruder, an injection press and a compressor to process plastic waste.
