Study Day: "Towards a digital policy and sustainable applications of heritage institutions"

In a context of heritage digitization and increasing development of digital applications in the heritage sector, professional and public practices are evolving. This study day raises the question of training in this sector and the impact on heritage institutions.

This study day is part of a research project supported by * UDPN (Uses of digital heritage), Sorbonne Paris Cité-USPC University, on the development of sustainable digital applications in the heritage sector. Following their earlier work on the uses of digital applications, Geneviève Vidal (Sorbonne Paris Cité University) and Florent Laroche (LS2N, Centrale Nantes) are focusing this year on skills related to digital issues in the heritage sector. In the context of heritage digitization and the increasing development of digital applications in the heritage sector, professional and public practices are evolving. Since multiple skills are required, the question of training arises, as well as that of new forms of relationship between research and the research and development of heritage institutions.
During this study day, participants will be invited to discuss these issues and digital policies, in order to carry out digital projects as well as to develop relationships with the relevant publics.

This day follows the study days on 22 June 2016 in Centrale Nantes and 27 February 2017 at the IRI (Institute of Research and Innovation) at the Centre Pompidou in Paris.

* UDPN is an interdisciplinary and inter-institutional scientific program that networks projects around a common interest: the uses of digitized heritage.
