Research topics

Through its research activities, the LHEEA aims to advance knowledge whilst solving more applied problems with a high societal or technological stake on the:
  • development of renewable marine energies,
  • safety of goods and people in maritime activities,
  • reduction of polluting emissions associated with land and sea transport,
  • quality of the urban atmosphere.

The LHEEA has the particularity of operating large-scale test facilities, some of which have unique capabilities in Europe for a university site: Centrale Nantes’ ocean test facilities are among the largest in Europe.

SEM-REV, operated by Centrale Nantes, is the first French multi-technology offshore test site. It is an indispensable tool for the development of a new industrial sector in France in the field of MRE.
