The Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) evaluates world universities across 57 subjects across 5 subject areas. GRAS is based on nine objective indicators grouped into five categories: World-Class Faculty, World-Class Research Output, High-Quality Research, Research Impact, and International Collaboration.

The combined academic strengths of Centrale Nantes and the Sciences & Technology Division have made it possible for Nantes Université to rank 48th in the world in the field of ocean engineering, thanks to its key position in this area. This ranking is underpinned by the commitment of our staff, as well as the quality of our facilities, our partnerships and unique experimental capabilities such as the ocean tanks at Centrale Nantes.

This joint achievement, which is unprecedented in France in this field, reflects both the high quality and impact of the scientific output of Centrale Nantes' research teams and of Nantes Université as a whole.
