Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject 2023: Centrale Nantes moves up the rankings in both Engineering and Physical Sciences
Centrale Nantes enters the top 200 in Engineering and the top 400 in Physical Sciences in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject 2023, out today.

Of the 1306 institutions ranked in the world by the Times Higher Education in the field of engineering, the school joins the top 200 for 2023 (up from top 250 in the 2022 ranking). This places the school in third place for engineering schools in France.
In the field of physical sciences, Centrale Nantes is ranked in the top 400 worldwide for 2023 (up from top 500 in the 2022 ranking) - or fifth engineering school nationally.
The school has maintained its ranking in computer science in the world's top 500 and in fifth place amongst French engineering schools.
These results confirm the school's progress at the international level and the quality of its research and teaching. It is a great recognition for our academic teams and the work they do.
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject employ the same range of performance indicators used in its overall World University Rankings - in which Centrale Nantes performs consistently well on industry income and international outlook, in particular - but the methodology is recalibrated to suit the individual fields. It highlights the universities that are leading across mathematics, statistics, physics, astronomy, chemistry, geology, environmental sciences, and earth and marine subjects.
