Conference - What is techno-solutionism? with philosopher Catherine Larrère

Join us on 17 December 2026 for the first conference in the 2026/2027 series of the Ecological Transition Mornings.

Catherine Larrère, philosopher and specialist in environmental ethics, will be at Centrale Nantes to discuss techno-solutionism.

A philosopher specialising in the relationship between man and nature, Catherine Larrère advocates for a just and sustainable ecological transition, through the establishment of an ethic to protect the environment. In her latest book, L'écoféminisme (2023), she explores how ecology and feminist struggles come together. In her talk, she will help us to understand the challenges of technological solutions to ecological crises and their social and ethical impact.

The conference is open to all. It will be held in French. It will take place at Centrale Nantes on Thursday 17  2025 in Lecture Theatre A, from 10.15am to 12.15pm.

Every year, a group of students following the Engineering for Ecological Transition professional option organises conferences on ecological issues. It is an opportunity to learn a little more and to debate with the key players in ecological transition.
