Conference - Introduction to biomimicry: frameworks, tools and practical applications for innovation, with Tarik Chekchak

The next Ecological Transition Morning Session will take place on Thursday, 5 February 2026 at Centrale Nantes with Tarik Chekchak, ecological engineer and director of the Living-Inspired Strategies Division at the Institute for Desirable Futures (Institut des Futurs souhaitables). This conference is organised in partnership with the Fondation Centrale Nantes.

Director of the Living-Inspired Strategies Division at the Institute for Desirable Futures, Tarik Chekchak is an ecological engineer and associate expert at the Centre for Studies and Expertise in Biomimicry (CEEBIOS). He teaches innovation inspired by living organisms and supports regions and organisations in integrating regenerative models, rethinking their interactions with biodiversity and transforming their modes of production, consumption and criteria for success.

Former director of the Science and Environment programme at Équipe Cousteau for more than 10 years, he has also been a polar expedition leader for more than 20 years.

The conference (in French) is open to all upon registration.

It will take place at Centrale Nantes on Thursday 5 February 2026, in Lecture Theatre A, from 10.15am to 12.15pm.

Every year, a group of students following the Engineering for Ecological Transition option organises conferences on ecological issues. It is an opportunity to learn a little more and to debate with the key players in ecological transition.
