Industri’elles: discover industry... by stepping into the shoes of professionals in the sector

On 5 and 6 March, Centrale Nantes hosted the Industri’elles challenge, conceived and organised by Nantes University, on its campus for the first time.

For two days, nearly 100 high school girls from several schools in the department took part in a collaborative and immersive role-playing game: imagining and designing an innovative product within a fictional company.

Divided into teams, they stepped into the shoes of industry professionals to imagine and design an innovative industrial product. This was an opportunity to understand the different stages of the industrial chain: design, manufacturing, production and marketing.

At the end of the day, each team presented their project to a panel of judges, followed by an awards ceremony to conclude the challenge.

The aim of Industri'elles is to introduce young girls to scientific training and the diversity of careers in industry, combat preconceived ideas and encourage new vocations in fields that are still largely male-dominated.
This event is particularly relevant to Centrale Nantes, which is committed to gender diversity in science.
