'My thesis in 180 seconds' gives PhD students the opportunity to present their research topic, in French and in simple terms, to a wide and non-specialist audience. The aim is for each student to deliver a clear, concise and convincing presentation on his/her research project in three minutes. The only support allowed is a single slide!

This competition is inspired by Three Minute Thesis (3MT®), which originated at the University of Queensland in Australia.

Maroua EN-NAJJARI, PhD student at the AAU Laboratory, is among the 16 finalists for the Brittany-Pays de la Loire region. Her thesis is entitled: "Les nouvelles plages urbaines : le dépaysement comme moteur de transformation et de renouvellement des espaces publics contemporains".

The inter-regional final will be held on Thursday 21st March at the Grand Théâtre - Les Quiconques, rue des Jacobains in Le Mans from 7pm.

A panel of four experts from the world of research, industry and media will select two of the 16 finalists to participate in the national semifinal to be held between 4th and 6th April in Paris.
