Application Process

22 places are available for international candidates for the September 2026 intake. 

Application Rounds

  • Applications are reviewed in rounds. Applications should be submitted on the eCandidat platform as early as possible, but before the deadlines below;
  • Applications are not considered 'complete' until all required elements are submitted. Only complete applications received by the round's deadline will be considered in that round;
  • The admissions board reviews applications at the conclusion of each round and notifies each applicant of the outcome of their application;

Accepting your place

  • Successful applicants must accept their place on the eCandidat platform by the deadlines below;
  • The first installment of tuition fees must be paid by the deadlines below to definitively secure the applicant's place on the programme.

Early Bird Applications

Applicants who submit their complete application before the deadlines below may qualify for a tuition fee reduction:

 
  • Before 27/02/2026 - A reduction of €1,500 for the first year of BSc study is granted to international students (including Europeans) who apply during the first admissions round and make their first tuition payment within one month of being offered a place on the programme. French students applying via Parcoursup are not eligible.
  • Before 28/03/2026 - A reduction of €500 for the first year of BSc study is granted to international students (including Europeans) who apply during the second admissions round and make their first tuition payment within one month of being offered a place on the programme. French students applying via Parcoursup are not eligible.

Admission Requirements

Who is eligible to apply?

  • Open to students holding or completing a high school diploma in science or equivalent,
  • Applicants must be under 22 years of age.

What are the selection criteria?

  • Academic results (60%). Two-years of academic records must be provided and show courses in mathematics and/or sciences
  • Mathematics/science grades (20%)
  • Proficiency in English (20%) * Submit a certificate, which is no older than three years for a recognised international test of English, with a minimum score of TOEFL: 78 / TOEIC: 800 / IELTS: 6.0 / Cambridge B2 First Test - 173 or higher / Cambridge C1 Advanced Test - 160 or higher. NB No proficiency requirements in the French language.
* Applicants who carried out their studies in English (you must provide an official confirmation letter from your high school) are eligible without passing proficiency test, but providing the results of a recognized international test can add value to the application.
Students who completed their studies in the countries listed below are exempted from submitting a language certificate: Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, English-speaking Canada, Gambia, Ghana, Grenada, Guyana, Republic of Ireland, Jamaica, Kiribati, Liberia, Mauritius, Micronesia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Papua New Guinea, St. Kitts-Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, United Kingdom, United States of America, Zambia or Zimbabwe.

How does the selection process work?

Applicants are assessed on their application form, taking into consideration academic performance, attitude and progress in class, motivation, the relevance of career plans, extra-curricular involvement, and English proficiency. Top candidates may receive a direct offer of admission from the selection committee. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a videoconference interview.

The purpose of the interview is to confirm information provided in the application and to assess:

 
  • Motivation to follow the programme;
  • Extra-curricular activities;
  • Intellectual curiosity;
  • Potential and ability to adapt to a new environment;
  • Language proficiency in English.

 
Required documents

You will need to submit the following documents as part of your application:

 
  • Curriculum Vitae and cover letter in English.
  • A certified copy in English or French of your secondary school diploma; or failing that, the current year's enrolment certificate for the final year of high school studies and academic transcripts.
  • Copy of an identity document (e.g. passport).
  • English test score (TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS). NB Not required for native speakers of English.
  • Two letters of recommendation, at least one of which must be from a professor in a scientific subject (e.g. Physics, Mathematics, etc.). The letters must be provided on official letterhead, signed, stamped, and include the official contact details of the referees.
Visa requirements

If you are a non-EU student you must apply for a long-stay student visa in order to follow this programme.

Tuition fees and financing

Tuition fees

Tuition fees are fixed at €12,000 per annum and are guaranteed for the duration of the programme.
 
  • The following students, whatever their admissions route, are exempt from paying tuition fees:
    • CROUS means-tested student grant holders;
    • French government scholarship recipients;
    • Wards of the nation (pupilles de la nation);
    • Students seeking asylum from the French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons (OFPRA), those who have been granted refugee status or subsidiary protection by OFPRA, or whose parent resides in France due to one of these statuses;
    • Students with a recognised disability greater than or equal to 80%;
    • Students enrolled in a specific programme covered by an agreement including a fee waiver clause;
    • Recipients of the Eiffel Excellence Scholarship
NB Students claiming exemption from tuition fee payment must provide supporting documentation justifying their entitlement (CROUS or French government grant certificate, refugee card, asylum application receipt, disability or mobility inclusion card, proof of permanent disability, etc.). All of the above provisions apply only to students enrolling in the BSc for the first time from the 2026-2027 academic year onwards.
 
  • Early Bird Applications:

Financing your studies

  • Centrale Nantes Elite Tuition Fee Waivers may be awarded based on scientific excellence criteria to the most promising non-European students accepted into the first-year of the BSc programme at Centrale Nantes. The award is for the duration of the 3-year programme (provided that the student does not repeat a year) for a maximum annual amount of €3,000.
  • Opportunities within the framework of certain international agreements, may be available for periods of international mobility within the programme.
