L'Etudiant 2024 - Centrale Nantes in 4th place

Centrale Nantes ranks in 4th place in the 2024 Etudiant rankings.

Centrale Nantes moved up to joint 4th place - alongside IMT Atlantique - in the 2024 Etudiant ranking (up from 7th in 2023).

Centrale Nantes performed particularly well on the international criteria, with a score of 29/30, and in terms of employability, with a score of 16/20.

Nantes Université, first French university to enter Shanghai's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects for Marine/Ocean Engineering

The Shanghai 2023 "Marine/Ocean Engineering" GRAS ranks Nantes Université, which includes Centrale Nantes, France's leader player in ocean engineering, in 41st place worldwide. This makes it the first and only French institution in this ranking, which lists the world's 50 best universities per academic subject.

Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject 2024 - Centrale Nantes is ranked in the world's top 300 for Engineering and the top 500 for both Computer Sciences and Physical Sciences


Of the 1374 institutions ranked in the world by the Times Higher Education in the field of engineering, Centrale Nantes is ranked in the top 300 for 2024. This places the school in third place for engineering schools in France.

In both physical sciences and computer science, Centrale Nantes is ranked in the top 500 worldwide for 2024.

Out of more than 1,900 institutions ranked worldwide by Times Higher Education, Centrale Nantes is positioned in the top 500 globally, 11th in France (out of 49 institutions) and 2nd among French engineering schools.

QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023: Centrale Nantes ranked 87th in the world for Mechanical Engineering


Centrale Nantes comes in at 190th position in the world for Engineering and Technology and has made significant progress across several engineering fields and subjects:
 
  • Mechanical engineering: Centrale Nantes jumped a further 22 places to 87th place in the world for this subject and 3rd in France - behind Polytechnique and Université PSL (the only three French institutions to make the top 100)
  • Civil engineering: the school is one of only five French institutions ranked in the top 200 worldwide for this subject alongside Ecole des Ponts ParisTech (top 100) and INSA Lyon, Université Grenoble Alpes, Université PSL.
This year, the QS World University Rankings has ranked 1,594 institutions from around the world, for 54 subjects grouped into 5 broad fields (including Engineering and Technology). Five indicators determine the rankings: academic reputation - employer reputation - research citations per paper  - H-index - international research network
