Launch of the Joint Laboratory of Marine Technology

Centrale Nantes, the University of Nantes and DCNS (now Naval Group) are launching the "Joint Laboratory of Marine Technology" due to provide DCNS with the most advanced military shipbuilding technologies.

An official joint announcement of the launch will be made to the press on Friday 14 October by Centrale Nantes, the University of Nantes and DCNS.

Combined expertise for collaborative and innovative research
In line with the momentum of the NExT initiative (Nantes Excellence Trajectory), Centrale Nantes and the University of Nantes are joining forces with DCNS, the European leader in naval defence. The aim is to speed up technological developments in three key areas of military shipbuilding and provide vessels with true operational superiority on the seas.

The three parties will sign an agreement on Friday 14th October to create a Joint Laboratory for research and innovation in the fields of "Additive Manufacturing", particularly with regard to the manufacture of large-scale items, "Naval Hydrodynamics" with the development of a simulator and "Multiphysics Numerical Simulation".

The creation of the Joint Laboratory of Marine Technology, strengthens the historic collaboration between the three parties and increases existing synergies.
