In order to tackle the climate emergency, France has set itself ambitious targets: to reach net zero emissions by 2050 and to become the first major industrial country to end its dependence on fossil fuels.

Meeting this objective means making real societal choices about how we consume and produce, how we travel and how we live etc.
In order to foster genuine debate on these issues, the Government launched a major national consultation on the energy mix on 20 October 2022, entitled "Our energy future is being decided now".

This consultation is intended to provide input for drafting the first programming law on energy and climate, which will be the subject of a parliamentary debate in 2023, and the third multi-annual energy plan, which will be adopted in 2024.

Among the consultation methods, a tour of the country is planned, with a meeting, involving local actors and the general public, to be held in each region.

Centrale Nantes will play host to the Pays de la Loire stopover on 14 December 2022.
