10th ANNUAL EUROPEAN RHEOLOGY CONFERENCE SHORT COURSES on "Advanced polymeric materials”

Centrale Nantes to host "a one-day courses on Advanced polymeric materiaux", the day before the 10th Annual European Rheology Conference

on April 14, 2015

The 10th Annual European Rheology Conference will be organized in Nantes (France) by the Groupe Français de Rhéologie in April 2015.

The conference will coincide with the Golden Jubilee meeting of the Groupe Français de Rhéologie. The conference will bring together world-class scientists, engineers, industrial experts and students involved in modern rheology and its applications.

The program will be arranged around four plenary lectures with six parallel sessions and a poster session. A permanent exhibition of scientific and technological equipment will be part of the program of the conference.

Centrale Nantes is to host short-courses :
  • 08:00 Welcome of participants
  • 08:30 Rheology and flow of polymer solutions and melts
Roland Keunigs - Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium
  • 10:30 Flows of simple and complex fluids in microstructures: reactive processing and novel composite materials
Francisco Chinesta  -ESI & EADS Chair, Ecole Centrale de Nantes, France
  • 13:30 Flows of simple and complex fluids in microstructures: reactive processing and novel composite materials
Christophe Binetruy - Faurecia Chair, Ecole Centrale de Nantes, France
  • 16:00 Visit of Airbus

During the 10th ANNUAL EUROPEAN RHEOLOGY CONFERENCE, the plenary lectures will be given by Prof. Jian Ping Gong (University of Sapporo, Japan, Department of Soft and Wet Materials), and Prof. David Pine (University of New-York, Department of Chemical & Biological Engineering), the 2015 Weissenberg Awardee (ESR) and the 2015 recipient of the Maurice Couette Award (GFR).

The Conference will have 10 thematic sessions and a poster session, which includes a student/post-doc poster competition. The planned symposia are as follows:
- Advanced techniques and methods in rheology
- Colloids, suspensions, and granular materials
- Confined flows, microfluidics and rheology at the microscopic scale
- Food, cosmetic, active and biological rheology
- Interfacial phenomena, foams and emulsions
- Nano, micro and macroprocessing
- Polymers in solutions, selfassembling systems and gels
- Polymer melts, blends, composites and solid polymers
- Simulations and computational rheology
- Structured flows and instabilities

The conference will be held at the Nantes Events Center, ideally situated at the heart of the city, with a wide range of accommodation options nearby. Information on hotel reservation will be available soon on the website of the conference.
