1 workshop | Stéréolux | 6 - 11 pm

  • Les robots ont plus d’une corde à leur arc (Robots have more than one string to their bow) - with Marceau Metillon, research engineer at the Laboratory of Digital Sciences of Nantes (LS2N)
When you think about robots, you are probably torn between fascination and apprehension. But robots are not really the masters of destruction you see in the movies. In real life, some are called "parallel cable robots". You've already seen them: they're used to film matches in stadiums. A world away from disturbing humanoids, come along to discover and manipulate these machines that move in all dimensions.

2 workshops | Hall 6 Ouest | 6 - 11 pm

  • N’en jetez plus ! (Stop throwing away!)- with Awen Bruneau, PhD student in the Research Institute in Civil and Mechanical Engineering (GeM)
Wind turbine blades, boat hulls, bicycle frames and printed circuit boards: what are the end-of-life options? Composite materials are used in a wide range of everyday objects to create ever more high-performance parts. But what happens to them after use? Follow the new life of materials that have been reduced to pieces, to try and make sense of them from above and below.

  • Ressentir en virtuel : illusions corporelles et gestuelles (Feeling virtual: illusions of the body and gestures) - Rebecca Fribourg, Lecturer in the Laboratory of Digital Sciences of Nantes (LS2N)
Can reality be virtual? Once you've put on a virtual reality headset, it's hard to see your own body. Then the avatar, your virtual body, comes into play. By being embodied in another body, your perceptions and behaviour are turned upside down. Even your most basic interactions, like writing, become a playful sensory experience. Come along and trick your senses and test the boundary between virtual and reality.

1 mini conference | Hall 6 Ouest |  6.45 - 7.15 pm

  • Maritime transport: things have got to change! with Pierre Marty and Arnaud Garnier, researchers in the Research Laboratory in Hydrodynamics, Energetics & Atmospheric Environment (LHEEA).
90% of the products we consume today are transported by sea and this armada of ships causes a huge amount of pollution on a global scale. Researchers are scrambling to find innovative solutions and give new meaning to maritime transport through decarbonisation. During this interactive discussion, the speakers will share their insights into the economy and energy transition. Find out more about this little-known sector and the avenues being explored to get things moving.
With the cluster NExT Cargo and the Institut Universitaire Mer et Littoral (IUML)
