Sophie SAKKA appointed a Knight of the French National Order of Merit

Sophie Sakka, lecturer at Centrale Nantes, was appointed a Knight of the French National Order of Merit (Chevalier de l'Ordre national du mérite) at the beginning of May 2017. Congratulations to our outstanding researcher and president of the Robots! association.

"An institution of the French Republic born in the middle of the 20th century, the National Order of Merit is the second national Order after the Legion of Honor. Its purpose is to reward "distinguished merit" and encourage the lifeblood of the country."

Ms Sakka (Sophie), lecturer, president of an association to improve knowledge of robotics, 21 years of service extract from the Journal Officiel of 3 May. 

Sophie Sakka is the founding president of the association Robots! which aims to improve the general public's knowledge of robotics and to support the implementation of projects. Its activities: conferences, events, workshops and research programmes. The latter focus on the question: how can robots improve our daily lives today?

Sophie Sakka is working on the Rob’autisme project, a new experiment on the interaction between a robot and autistic youngsters, led by Centrale Nantes, the le Centre psychothérapique Samothrace (Nantes University Hospital), Stereolux and the Robots! Association.
