The social commitment of entrepreneurs: a conversation with two leading figures, Yann Rolland and Denis Metzger

Successful entrepreneurs are showing deeper commitment to society nowadays. We know about Bill Gates or Sara Blakely, but France also has more and more of them. Why do they get involved? How do they do it? What do they think about the role of entrepreneurs for the future of our societies? Sciences Po Alumni Ouest Atlantique is holding a conference (in French) on this subject at Centrale Nantes with the testimony of two well-known figures, Yann Rolland and Denis Metzger.

On June 21, 2022 from 18:30 To 21:00

Yann Rolland took over a small local carpentry company and built it up into a group of 1,300 employees. He chose to transform it into a social company and passed it on to the management team, the employees and an endowment fund working for alternative education and women in need.

Denis Metzger has dedicated his life to two different passions: business financing, notably through the creation of Chequers Capital, and humanitarian commitment, from volunteering in the field to presiding the association Action Contre la Faim. In 2018, he created the BreakPoverty Foundation to find new solutions to combat child and youth poverty, starting in France.

They will discuss social commitment at the conference (in French) to be held in Lecture Theatre S at Centrale Nantes, on 21 June from 6:30 pm to 9 pm.
